There are plenty of guide books covering the Elounda, Plaka and
Spinalonga area of west Lassithi, Crete and a number specifically
dedicated to the island. Books can be obtained from many of the
local news stands and book shops. Although in some the translation
may leave a little to be desired the books generally represent
good value for money and an informative introduction to Spinalonga's
historic and social significance throughout the centuries.
